How To Get Perfect, Maintenance-Free Eyebrows.

Microblading in Northwest Arkansas

Eyebrows, we all have them. Some of us shave off our natural ones and draw in new ones, some of us embrace the natural bushy look. Eyebrows are arguably one of the more noticeable features of a person’s face. Over the last 5 years or so, there has been an increased emphasis on full, natural-looking, perfectly groomed eyebrows, with everyone now aiming to make their “eyebrows on fleek”. Don’t worry; whether or not that phrase confuses you, we’ve got you covered.

What is microblading?

Did you realize that there is actually a science to facial symmetry? In fact, studies show that there is a correlation between our objective perception of beauty and a person’s facial symmetry. Microblading is a procedure in which an esthetician semi-permanently tattoos perfect eyebrows for you. Don’t worry, it’s not nearly as scary as it sounds.

She will start the procedure by literally getting out a ruler and making several different measurements to determine the perfect shape and size of your eyebrows. Then, you and the esthetician will decide on the color, thickness, and fullness of your new eyebrows. After all of these things are decided, she will pluck any excess hairs that are outside of the boundaries of the newly perfected lines. She will then clean and numb the area before proceeding with the tattooing process. For the tattooing, she will not use a normal tattoo machine, she will use a handheld tool with a bunch of tiny needles to create a hair-like stroke in order to ensure that your eyebrows look as realistic as possible.

After the procedure is over, she will apply an ointment to aid in the healing process and to prevent infection. The whole tattooing process typically takes 30-40 minutes. Because of the numbing cream, the process is not painful. According to most people, microblading is less painful than getting your eyebrows waxed. The only bothersome part is the small scratching sound of the needles during the strokes.

Our price for microblading in Northwest Arkansas, including the touch-up, is currently just $400!

What happens after the procedure?

After the instant confidence boost you will have from knowing your eyebrows are now “on fleek”, there is a small healing period. Immediately after the procedure, the brows will be sore to the touch. Your esthetician may instruct you to blot the area with a paper towel for the first hour to remove any blood or fluid that has accumulated. The area will form a scab, but it is important not to pick at or scratch the scab.

For the week following your appointment, we recommend to avoid getting the eyebrows wet and avoid putting makeup on the area. You will likely be instructed to apply an ointment on the area daily to keep the area moisturized while it is healing. After two weeks, you should be able to resume normal activities.

Your esthetician will likely have you return to the office after 4-6 weeks for a touch-up to ensure that you are happy with the final product. If she ends up microblading the area again, you will need to follow the aftercare for another two weeks following the touch-up.

How long does it last?

Microblading is considered semi-permanent because, unlike a normal tattoo, a much smaller amount of pigment is inserted into the skin. Remember: microblading is tiny, hair-like strokes instead of large, tattoo needle strokes. Because the amount of pigment is smaller and less concentrated, your body eventually ends up metabolizing it.

Average microblading in Northwest Arkansas at Renew Aesthetics lasts anywhere from one to three years. There are several factors that will speed up the fading process. People with naturally oily skin typically find their microblading results fade faster. Additionally, like any tattoo, microblading fades faster when exposed to UV rays without sunscreen. Exfoliants or products with retinol will also cause the pigment to fade significantly faster. We recommend regular touch ups every year.

What are the benefits of microbladed eyebrows?

First, they add to the overall symmetry of your face. Second, with a skilled esthetician, microblading in Northwest Arkansas looks completely natural. You will have effortlessly perfect eyebrows. Third, you will look younger. It is no secret that full eyebrows are a game-changer when it comes to looking younger. Just look at all of the celebrities that are 50+ years old and still more beautiful than ever—the eyebrows play a huge part!

Microblading is the longest-lasting eyebrow treatment. There are many methods of achieving beautiful brows (tinting, gels, powders) but these are all much more temporary and require a lot more maintenance. You may need a touch-up session after 4-6 weeks. Aside from that, your brows will require no additional maintenance!
