Renew Aesthetics’ Hormone Therapy Options for Men

If you’re over 30, there’s a good chance your testosterone is decreasing. It happens to all men as they get older. Past the ages of 30 and 40, you stand to lose about 1% of your testosterone each and every year. And while this is a natural part of the aging process, it’s not one that you have to accept lying down.

At Renew Aesthetics, we offer hormone therapy for men. The process is simple, convenient, and fast, but best of all, it’s totally customized for you and your body. At Renew, we understand that all of our customers are unique, so your treatment plans should be unique too.

The Effects of Hormone Imbalance

Hormone imbalance can manifest itself in many ways. You may notice multiple physical changes, including:

  • Swollen breasts
  • Reduced bone density
  • Reduced muscle mass
  • Low energy
  • Loss of body hair
  • Fewer random erections

These side effects vary from person to person, and you may not encounter all of them. You may not encounter any of them. But there are other, non-physical side effects to consider as well. You may notice:

  • A lack of motivation
  • Depression
  • Lethargy
  • Memory loss

If you do notice some emotional changes, it may be as a result of other, unrelated factors, like a mood disorder. Schedule a consultation with us if you think you may be suffering from a hormone imbalance.

Medical Considerations With Hormone Therapy

As we begin hormone therapy for men, we have to make certain considerations for your safety. We want you to leave feeling better than you came in, so we want to make sure hormone therapy doesn’t exacerbate any pre-existing issues. When you meet with us, we’ll do a screening to ensure that you’re not at risk for prostate cancer.

Men with high prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels have a high risk of getting prostate cancer, and hormone therapy can worsen the problem. So we’ll be sure that your PSA levels are low before we prescribe a hormone treatment.

Pills or Pellets?

Our hormone therapy comes in two forms: pills and pellets. The pills are probably what you’d expect: once we decide on a hormone treatment plan for you, we’ll write you a prescription, and you’ll take them like any other pill.

The pellets, on the other hand, are a little different. First, we’ll bring you into our treatment room and apply some topical anesthetic. From there, we’ll make a tiny incision in your hip and insert a series of small pellets. These pellets will deliver hormones directly into your bloodstream. These methods are very different, but they’re equally effective.
